Support Worker for Young Adults (Learning Disabilities & Supported Living)

Location: Surrey (Supported Living Homes)
Hours: Full-time / Part-time / Shift work (including evenings & weekends)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role

As a Support Worker at PVHCare, you will empower young adults with learning disabilities, autism, or mobility needs to live independent, fulfilling lives. You will provide practical support, encouragement, and teaching to build confidence and life skills. This role is about helping individuals thrive — not just survive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support residents with daily living skills (personal care, meal prep, household tasks).

  • Promote independence by teaching and encouraging self-care, budgeting, and decision-making.

  • Support access to education, employment, and community activities.

  • Assist with mobility and the safe use of specialist equipment.

  • Provide emotional reassurance, companionship, and advocacy.

  • Work closely with families and multi-disciplinary teams (NHS, schools, social services).

  • Safeguard residents and ensure CQC standards are consistently met.

  • Keep accurate records of care, progress, and incidents.

Requirements

  • Passion for supporting young adults with disabilities.

  • Positive, patient, and encouraging attitude.

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Previous experience in supported living, youth work, or care is desirable but not essential (training provided).

  • Right to work in the UK.
